Ingredients

12 sausages
200g flour
1 eggs
500ml milk
500ml water
175g beef dripping
​
Method
​
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
In a large bowl whisk the flour, eggs, milk and water until thoroughly combined.
​
Place the beef dripping in a baking tray and heat in the oven until the beef dripping has melted. Add the sausages and cook until coloured nicely about 10-15 minutes.
​
Give the batter a quick whisk and pour over the sausages.
​
Cook for 20 minutes, then reduce the heat to 180ºC and continue to cook for another 15 minutes.
​
Serve a large spoonful of the toad in the hole on a plate with a side of mash and veg.
